Jet Lag

Here is the good thing about jet lag. When you come westbound, you wake up so early! I woke up at 5:00 this morning, an hour before the alarm was to go off, so I had time for a nice long run. I ran 11 miles in about 20 degree weather. I am really sick of the cold but hopefully it will be springtime soon! The run was fine, I ran a bit slower than usual but considering I ran 6 more miles last night (for 10 miles yesterday) I did not feel bad at all. I really need to be doing some longer runs (i.e. 13-16 miles) for the half marathon because my hips and knees just tighten up at the end of the longer runs.

Now I am at home working and using our sweet new very fast cable modem. It is awesome! I can't believe how fast it is. I just got a flat tire fixed which was not much fun and discovered a parking ticket so I am in a bit of a foul mood! I am sure laying on the couch with my computer for a while should help. I am happy to be running more again and it is nice to get back into the routine of being home!

I am planning to run a reasonable amount tomorrow and Friday, go to practice Saturday, and run long Sunday. And that should do it for the week :)

Hey, Barb, I just read your entry about your trip. Your almost "nervous breakdown" in the Louvre made me laugh. I'm glad to see you have a sense of humor about yourself. Glad you had such an amazing time. Your account of it makes us want to go to Europe, too. Love, Mom
