Fun Weekend, Crappy Running

I just had a great weekend. Unfortunately the weekend did not involve nearly as much running as I would have liked. Friday after work I considered running again but succumbed to laziness, reading, and going out. We had such a great time hanging out with friends and doing a little pub crawl on Colfax.

Saturday I woke up around 10:00 or 10:30 and ran 11 miles. It was fine and a good start to the weekend but unfortunately that was it for the weekend. I had big plans to run in the morning on Sunday which fell through and then it was really windy so I did not exercise at all yesterday. I got really upset about it which on the one hand was stupid but on the other hand, unplanned days off really suck in my opinion. I end up stressing out all day about how I haven't run so by the time I decide I'm just not running I feel terrible about it instead of enjoying it. We had a really good time nonetheless in Fort Collins and we did take a drive and check out the course for the half marathon I'm doing in May. So that was productive and I did feel good this morning while I was running but I'd rather not take another day off (especially an unplanned one) for quite a while.

This morning I ran my normal 8 mile loop. It was fine, unremarkable. The weather was nice and warm. I felt good enough that I thought about extending it and doing my 11 mile run but I wanted to get to work early enough that I could justify leaving right at 5:00 today to get started on Valentines Day stuff. Since we are going to Europe we are just cooking dinner and chilling out which I am really looking forward to! Tomorrow I would like to get up and run 7-8 and then run 3-4 after work as well, possibly also lifting weights. Since I sucked last week I need to work hard this week!

Unplanned days off do suck, but days off are great! I look forward to them as my reward for hard work. I need to say, again, that I am so jealous that you are going to Europe!
