LONG Update
I have not updated for several days and there has been a good amount of running so I will try to keep this as short and sweet as possible! I do not believe I have updated since Wednesday as I ran late on Thursday and then was not online until this morning. So here goes:
Thursday:
7 mile run, early afternoon. I feel so bad talking about the weather out here right now because I know how cold and miserable it is in the Northeast right now, but this was another warm run. I felt pretty good and my iPod is back working again which was nice although I definitely felt like my legs were a bit dead.
Friday:
6 mile run, around Wash Park and some neighborhoods. Nothing exciting about this. I had just come back from Breckenridge - I was up there for some work stuff - and was feeling kind of depressed so it was a bit of a blah run. But it was fine.
Saturday:
Short easy run, 4 miles. We had planned to go up skiing but didn't quite make it. So we slept in until 11:00 (this was SO GREAT) and I ran, then we ran errands and went to some friends' house for dinner. Which was a lot of fun but I need to stop eating dessert!
Sunday: 11 mile long run. Felt pretty good throughout. Dressed too warmly so I was hot but it was fine. I completed this in 1:35 (which I think is like 8:45 pace) - that seemed like it did not take enough time but I am pretty sure of the run's distance so I am calling it 11 anyway. After I ran, we drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park and did about a 4 mile hike. It was so much fun and it was beautiful up there although the footing was certainly tricky in the snow. I was wishing I had some Yaktrax (or some snowshoes). Then we took a nice drive up to Fort Collins for a surprise party where we hung out with my favorite 18-month old, our friends' baby Abby. She is absolutely adorable and so much fun. It was a great Sunday.
Monday:
I have not run yet but my plan is to go to the gym after work, do a quick 4 mile run from there, and then lift weights because as usual I have been a weights slacker for a while. My legs actually feel fine today in spite of putting 15 miles on them in one shape or form yesterday, but I still think it's wise to take it pretty easy today.
I hope everyone has an okay time digging out.
p.s. Go Patriots! I have bet against Matt on the Pats games for the past two weeks and won both times so they have been very good to me :)
