Update

Things have been crazy with a lot going on at work and my brother's wedding, which involved over a week of traveling and time in Mexico. I am just going to do a quick update, and start writing again from here. I last wrote at the beginning on the week of June 13, so I will update from there.

Week of June 13-19: Ran 50 miles in 5 days (traveled on 2 of the days) including several 11-12 mile runs

Week of June 20-26: In Mexico at brother's wedding, ran 36 miles in 5 days (traveled on 2 days) in 95+ heat

Week of June 27-July 3: Ran 50 miles, lifted weights 4 times, and did 3 elliptical training workouts

I felt pretty good about last week. I have been running decent amounts, although not much in the way of speedwork, since my hip started doing better. However, I just have not found the time to do all the little things with all that has been going on. It felt good to get back in the weight room and doing cross training, and I was better about getting some good stretching in after workouts, as well. I have girls from the cross country team I coach coming over tonight for a long run and than I am lifting with my husband, so that should fill my evening pretty well. I am leaving again Sunday to take a group of junior high kids to Toronto for a week, but after that I should be home the rest of the summer. We are meeting several other groups of kids, so I am hoping for another adult leader who runs. Last summer I took kids to Niagara Falls, and ran every morning for about an hour with one other leaders. It really helps to have someone to go with when the alarm goes off at 5 am and it just feels safer in big cities to have a running buddy. Either way, there is some nice running options near the lake, so it will be fun to explore somewhere new.
