Track meets and little else to report
I am still feeling sick, although my throat is a bit less sore than at the beginning on the week. My hip is feeling slightly better, but that probably has more to do with how little I am running right now than much else. Tuesday, I did some running at my girls track meet. I was really proud of how they ran. We were racing against our two main rival schools in a double dual meet (all 3 schools race at the same time, but the it is scored as 3 seperate meets: us versus each of the other schools and the two other schools versus each other) and since we are so weak in just about every non-distance event, we spread my 7 girls between the 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 4x400 and 4x800. They ran so hard in so many events, and in the end we lost to one of the schools by just 6 points (we beat the other), which I could name about 10 ways we could have gotten if our sprinters had bothered to show up or compete in all the events they were entered in. It made me so mad for the distance girls sake. Yesterday, I ran an easy 4 miles with them. We are going to take it easy at practice again today, since they are pretty worn out and have to race again tomorrow. I am frustrated with not being able to train right now. Between being sick, my hip and the fact it keeps being freezing cold (despite being practually May) which makes my hip feel tighter, I have had a pretty lame last 2 weeks of training. I know it's not that long, but I was really excited to get down to some serious training. I feel like I have had so many things interupting my training since January, I am really having a tough time being patient. I feel like I have already put my time in and things should be working for me to run hard by now.
