Last warm day
It is suppose to snow this weekend! At least today was beautiful. My track girls and I ran 8 miles on a route we run in cross country season a lot, and we all agreed it was such a fun running day, because everything reminded us of the fall. Because I was enjoying myself so much, I could not convince myself to turn around 3 miles out, like I was planning. So, instead of running 6 miles, I did 8, and just to show me I should stick with my recovery plan, my hip started hurting at 6.5 miles and hurt quite a bit all the way back. I came home and iced before going to the Thursday youth program I run, even though it made me get there quite a bit later than I like to. Tonight we had an event we call "See You At The Oscars" where the kids (6th-8th grade) make short movies, which we show and than present fake Oscar trophies to Best Movie, Actor, Actress, etc. It was a fun evening, and a few of the movies were actually quite amusing, which is more than I can say for last year. I am going to run easy tomorrow and hopefully I won't have set my recovery back much by my longer run today.
