Home Sweet Home

It is good to be home. I had a fun time traveling, but the work trip and visiting my friend back to back makes me appreciate being home, seeing my husband and getting back in a normal routine. I believe I left off updating on Wednesday morning after my run. My friend and I spent the rest of the day running errands for her job and doing some shopping for new clothes for her and the baby. Than we had dinner with her husband, who kindly took the baby for the rest of the evening. We went to a nearby bookstore and talked (we're exciting I know). Thursday morning I ran an easy 5 1/2 miles (43 min), since we had to get packed up and to the airport, and its amazing how long it takes to do anything with a baby. I spent most of the day flying home, since I was not able to get a direct flight. My husband picked me up from the airport and once we got home we had time for a walk and to watch the Survivor episode that he taped. I am ashamed to admit that I watch Survivor, but for some reason I always end up hooked. My excuse is that its nice to have something to unwind and watch when I get back from out Thursday night youth program, but I have to admit its just an excuse. This morning I slept in. I knew I was tired, but I did not realize how wiped I was. I had to force myself out of bed, even though I got 10 hours of sleep! I just did a quick 4 miles (28:25) on one of my favorite short routes (it gets me briefly on trails and its a loop, and I hate out and back routes), since I needed to get to work and I plan on running longer this evening. The weather is beautiful today, almost as nice as Flordia was. Maybe spring is really here... I am going to call my friend who I run with once in a while (she homeschools her kids and lives half an hour away, so its hard to find times we can run together) and see if we can do a long run some time this weekend. I would like to have a good running weekend, since I have not been too focused on my running this past week with all the traveling.

Welcome home! Running and traveling is hard! I hope you're not too busy and you'll be able to transition back into the good routine you normally seem to have at home.

I've watched much worse than Survivor, mindless TV definitely has its place. Have a great weekend!
