Another long track meet

I did not get home from my girls track meet and until after 11pm. I am hoping that once we get further into the season, these track meets will run a little smoother. I actually did stick with my plan and not run at practice yesterday. Although I have to admit that I wore sandals to practice, so I could not change my mind, which my girls found to be really funny. I really miss getting the time with them running, plus its hard to watch others be able to run when you can't. After practice was over, I went to the YMCA and lifted with my husband. This morning I just did 3 miles again, since I knew I would be on my feel all evening at the track meet. My hip felt a little better than yesterday. I was able to run at 7:40 pace rather than 8 minute pace without it hurting. I can feel that the tendon and muscles are looser. I stretched/strengthen/iced and went into work. Tuesday is my day full of meetings, although my last one was canceled, which was nice. The weather was hot, a high of 81! So I guess in some ways it was nice that the track meet got off to such a late start, since it cooled down to a nice temperature in the evening. My distance girls ran great. We are pretty weak in our field events and shorter distances, so we spread the distance girls through the middle and long distance events and made them all run a lot. They did such a great job, taking all the places in almost everything they ran. And it was really fun to watch my distance runners go so fast in the middle distance stuff.

I used to wear street clothes to practice some days so I wouldn't run with my team. Of course that was always met with the question, "What's wrong???"
