A wintery mix

I did not run a second time yesterday, since the guy who was driving us to Toronto took the wrong road and than refused to stop and ask for directions until we had drove past where we were suppose to go. So we ended up not getting to our hotel until 7:30 and it was already dark. I ended up just going out to dinner and talking with one of them until late last night. At first this morning I was pleased to look out the window and see that there was no snow on the ground, since the weather prediction called for a wintery mix. However, once I got outside I realized that the weather was nasty. The wind was blowing so hard, and the rain was in the process of turning to snow, so it was at the great small ice pellet stage for most of my run. I managed to force myself through 6 miles, by switching directions often to keep the ice from hitting my face for too long at one time. My warm shower felt so good. The worst thing was the people we were suppose to meet were really late, so we ended up getting soaked in the process of meeting them, so I pretty much was freezing all day. The whole drive through Cananda was quite exciting, too. The wind was blowing so hard that everytime we would go through as open area you had to steer so far to the right to stay on the road it was scary, espesially since the snow was starting to stick to the roads. At least once we got back into Michigan the weather cleared up. Lets just say I am really glad to be home, espesially since I leave again tomorrow afternoon. At least tomorrow I am going to Flordia where it does not snow in April, and will be visiting a close friend rather than working. After this morning I am really looking forward to running in Flordia. I am hoping for some good chances to train. My friend, J, is usually very understanding of how important running is to me.
